Teachable moment...yet again.

In the wake of this tragic shooting in Arizona there sure does seem to be enough finger pointing for a life time.  Political rhetoric is too blame...no no, the Sheriff is too blame...no no, guns are too blame...no no, the bullets are too blame...no no, high capacity magazines are too blame...no no, the parents are too blame...no no, and the list keeps growing.

Call me silly, but what ever happened to personal responsibility?  Jared Loughner in my opinion is too blame and I think it's extremely clear that he was "CRAZY" and nothing more.  Yes we can look back in the past with perfect clarity and pinpoint a couple of hundred ways that this disaster could have been prevented.  Blame can be assigned all day long, but at the end of the day it is Jared who picked up a gun and decided to commit mass murder.  It is a good time for us parents to focus on personal responsibility when discussing the killings in Arizona.

  1. So good Chris! I really haven't had a chance to talk to my boys about it. I find out about the shooting on Sunday afternoon and they left with their dad a few hours later. I try not to let them see the news but at their grandparents house they watch the news and it infuriates me. I'm sure everyone has been talking about it so I will certainly be listening to what they have to say when they come back with me on Friday.

Whether he is "crazy" or not (I'm fully convinced it's more than that), he still is responsible and should still be held accountable. He should pay for his crimes with his life. He should get psychiatric help while in jail and also some spiritual, CHRISTIAN, counseling. Even he can be torn away from the grips of Satan and be saved. Wouldn't that be awesome?
